Cheers for the help guys, as far as the king lead is concerned I'm happy that it is wired correctly, as I've done continuity checks back to the coil and the other leads back to the plugs.
The area that's interesting me at the moment is the rotor arm, all the new points, cap and rotor are actually refurbished original 'black' items so trying to find a new red one is going to be my next challenge!
I'm also going to fit an uprated coil to try and boost what spark I do have.

Thanks Peter but this is where I got my spares from, I don't think that Martin has a red rotor arm to fit my Pilot.

Taking note of what's been said about the black arms arcing, I tried a little experiment today by inserting a rubber o ring into the rotor arm, in an effort to insulate the shaft from the brass strip and also to minimise the gap between the arm and the lead contacts in the cap; I also put some insulating tape on the shaft to try adding a bit more insulation.
Still no joy! Getting fed up now Sad

Well, thanks to Martin from Distributor Doctor, 1 new red rotor arm later and she's purring like a kitten. Ok maybe a kitten on steroids because the exhaust is blowing but shes actually running, woo hoo!
