My wife and I were heading out of Sydney Harbour on 17th March aboard P & O's Pacific Pearl admiring the scenery, when I noticed some unusual airplane noise above and spotted this Lockheed Constellation performing fly overs. I had my camera handy and snapped a few pickies, of which these are the best two. I also captured some video but this didn't turn out very well.
It passed overhead 4 times very close above us. The engine noise was awesome as it was only about 2000 feet overhead.
A Truely unique experience

Coooo fantastic, my favourite prop-liner.
When I worked near Knutsford in Cheshire, out on a walk one lunchtime I heard something flying overhead. Looking up I saw a Connie flying over on a low-level cross-country route. It was in polished aluminium, similar to the MATS Constellation, but not that one. On a bright sunny day, blue sky, with the sun reflecting off the fuselage it was a treat to see. I believe it was on a ferry flight to somewhere in Europe. This would have been 1996-2000 or so, magic
Do you know who operates the one you saw? I wonder if it was ex-TWA given the visible livery still in place?
