I feel the same from all the evidence I can gather. Would it help if I posted some closer pictures of certain features of the chassis to help identify. As I have said I am not expecting to register this a s SS2 with the number plate I have with it. It would be nice to put some sort of date so in the future I can present all the detail to the DVLA(if I ever finish it) and let them make a more informed decision. I might well pay the £45 to jaguar just as additional paperwork to that cause.
I don't suppose this is viewable in the National archives.

Getting the heritage certificate is a good idea. It won't show the original registration but will show engine number, body number, paint colour and the name of the agent that sold it when new.

I'm afraid I don't have any photos of an SSII chassis other than the ones in Allan Crouch's book.

Taking photos of your chassis from the exact same angle (and zoom level) would always help with comparison.

You might get further advice from Dave Davenport. Dave likes the telephone but not email. The best thing might be to arrange a visit to his premises with your photos. You can say you were speaking to me if you want.

Just had another email from Jaguar and it states the chassis is an SS2 9hp
