On our recent trip, we paused at the village of Woomera, the town built to house personell of the Woomera Rocket Range.
The story of how Woomera was established is a fascinating one as told by Len Beadell, the surveyor, bush-basher, cartoonist, author and general all rounder who set out the site for the township, the rocket range, and later, the ground for the atomic bomb tests at Maralinga, among many other achievements.
It was Sunday when we called there, but the outside museum held many interesting exhibits. Only two are aeroplanes, but I guess that rockets are indeed a form of aircraft anyway!
Where possible a photo of the plaque accompanying the exhibit is placed below the main photo.
These are just some of the exhibits there.
I sincerely hope that I have the right plaques with their respective photos. Photobucket has a habit of mixing the photos up! _________________ Dane- roverdriver but not a Viking. |

Hi
I suppose you could say there were 3 aircraft because the Jindvik you included in the other thread had wings and flew, albeit without a pilot. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.
