Old Nick Larkin must have taken loads of photo`s over the years of my cars or caravans at shows but has never used them up until now......fame at last.

The pedals are connected to a spindle which has individual springs attached to pull the pedal back into position when released.

The spindle had become dry and light rust had developed stopping the pedals from working correctly.

I stripped out all the moving parts and assembly.

Cleaned, greased and re-fitted. Now everything works fine.

The brake master cylinder is fitted in front of the pedal assembly so I removed this as well to carry out a overhaul.

This is now all cleaned up waiting for a new seal kit.

The car now starts, moves under its own steam and stops on the handbrake.

All of the lights work.

I just need to get the wipers and washers working.

When did you last see a 54 year old petrol tank in this condition.?

I have had 1970 Morris Minor tanks develop rust and holes and needing replacement. Sad

You will agree the back seat was a little dirty.

Just shows what you can do with a small nail type brush and some good old cream cleanser. Very Happy

Let the cleaning begin.

The wife tells me I would be good cleaning the sink, bath, worktops, cooker etc.

Somehow it is just not the same. Sad

Brake master cylinder now rebuilt and fitted.

Interior has been scrubbed clean including the original rubber floor covering.

I flicked the window wiper switch gave the motor a short tap with the end of my screwdriver and hey presto they started to work.

I thought I was into a motor strip down job.

Just a few light bulbs to change and the lights will be all functioning.
