Can anyone point me in the direction of a reliable distributor supplier?

The hand book for my Hillman Minx series lllb says I need a Lucas DM4P2

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - the original is a wreck - not even servicable

Have you tried the Distributor Doctor - he may be able to suggest an alternative if he cannot fix it

Are you sure it's not a Lucas DM2P4? If so a very common unit fitted to loads of vehicles.

Dave

PS
Just looked it up, it is a DM2P4 Lucas part number 40492A/B Smile

Sent it off in May - just found out it will take 8/9 weeks.

Any suggestions where I can get a replacement? going to miss all the local shows!!

Is there an alternative to the DM2p4?

had the same problem a week or so ago
speak with accuspark

http://www.accuspark.co.uk/index.html

They list one suitable for the minx.

I fitted one of their distributors a couple of weeks ago following ignition failure, Delivered next day for 58 (complete distributor). Took about 10 mins to set up and get running perfect, to be fair, best 58 spent on the car so far.
