Hi.

Have just bought a 1949 P3, bit of a surprise upon inspection in the garage at what wants doing mechanically to make it roadworthy!

The interior is tan seats and doorcards. Headlining has been ripped out and needs replacing. The exterior is grey. What colour did the P3s originally come in?

Can someone give advice on headlining, materials etc. How much would you expect the headlining fitting to cost as I've just had a quote 'upwards of £3000!!' Also how much have you paid for seat repairs or replacement?

Also has anyone any recommendations on restorers/upholsterers/trimmers/paint sprayers in Norfolk or Suffolk area!

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

I can't help with specifics re the Rover, or restorers in your area, however hopefully someone will chime in with some relevant info shortly Smile

I'll move this over in to the Rover forum if that's ok. Do you have any photos that could show the car, and the work required?

You can buy head lining material from Woolies http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/

It's not as difficult as you might think to install the head lining although sun roofs can be a little tricky.

Hopefully your car will still have the rods that support the cloth.

If you were paying an experienced professional to do it I wouldn't expect it to take more than a couple of days so £3000 should give them a whopping profit margin.

Rover had very limited colours - medium grey was one of them. The RSR Forum and Club is what you need
