!955 mk3 sunbeam with overdrive. With rough bodywork which has had expanding foam and filler used in the past to fill rust holes. I am slowly digging it out and welding where I can and refilling. Not looking so bad now in these photos as I have done most of it.

Took her out for her first proper run yesterday and she drives nicely although I had trouble getting used to column shift!

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the forum.

As others have said, "lovely car". Is that a rally clock in on the passenger side?

The column change is a nice period piece. They are quite nice to use when working correctly.

Thanks chaps!

I`ll post some more as things improve! I will try some more road tests this weekend.

Yes it is a rally clock. I believe it is very early and have found only one other which is in a 1937 Bugatti ! see link below to retromobile in Paris

http://www.hindustantimes.com/photos-news/photos-business/vintagecarsshowparis/Article4-375710.aspx

I know that the rally clock was owned by the best friend of Colin Macrae who unfortunately died with him in his helicopter crash and was passed on to me as friend of the family.

Hi
I see there are some photos of it on flickr, are they yours or do they date from before you got it?
They appear to be taken somewhere in the North British Very Happy islands

No not mine. It was owned by a guy in the isle of skye two owners before me. Do you have a link to those photos?

There are some interesting USAAF B24 crash site photos in the same album.
