Hi All,
New here and sending greetings from Cardiff. I know some of the Welsh contingent in here such as 52classic. I live in Cardiff but mine and my family's cars are based in South West Wales. At the moment we have an MGB GT that we will be converting to V8 soon and an early Mk1 Hillman Imp. My brother has a restored Imp Californian and my dad has a for Anglia 105E that he has had since 1973!
Will post pics up in the classic introduction _________________ 1971 MGB GT (V8 project)

Hello all.
What a great forum this is. I have been looking for a site where classic car restorers of all levels can chat and share advice and see that I have now found just that with this community. I only hope I can contribute as well as draw information from time to time.
I work in insurance during the day and therefore like to do some real work when at home. Being gifted with more enthusiasm than brains I like to “have a go” rather than pay for quality tradesmen; accepting that often it would have been quicker and cheaper to pay for it to be done right.
It was therefore inevitable that Mark Evens would change my life with such offerings as “A Car is born”, “A car is reborn” and “an MG is born”. You see I have wanted a classic Bristol since I was a teenager when such cars were neither classic nor affordable.
Bristol’s are of course produced in very small numbers and projects do not come up for sale often. My 409 is one of 74 made. It took me over a year to locate a suitable project. It had been standing in a garden gently rotting away for several years. It does not look that bad as the body is aluminium. It is the chassis, floors, boot and wheel arches that are shot.
I will post full details of the project in the correct section. I need all the support and encouragement you can muster!

Hi
Welcome, how nice to see a real car on here, (apologies to everybody else).
Are you a BOC member?
If you aren't, what are the relevant numbers?
Eng., Chassis, Reg. etc and I can check if it appears on the register. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Welcome to the forum Bellisin, it'll be interesting to follow the rebuild of your 409. There's a stripped 401 in the workshop where my old truck is right now, I'll see if I can take a photo or three and post on here.

Hello everyone, I've just joined this forum which looks really interesting. I'm a 19 year old who owns and runs a Rover 2000 auto series 1. I shall post a full account of its time with me in its own thread where there'll be lots of photos and information on it. Here's a photo of the car.
I've had a few Beetles since I started driving but sold my last one about 12 years ago which was my biggest 'car' regret. Since then I always promised myself I'd get another so the 55 is my new long term project..I'm so happy I got back into it.
A 53 Beetle, not many of them around these days..either keepers in cherished garages or like you say, being run on the drag strips.
If you like your Beetles, it's the Volksworld show at Sandown Park in Esher this weekend. Always a good show! _________________ John
Not had a beetle for a long time, Came home from Germany in 1969 with a 1959 Beetle Karman, rescued from a scrap yard, swapped it for a cine camera, did a good few miles for about four years
Then had the 1953 beetle, highly tuned, used to Rally and race with it, had that for about 10 years.
That would have been the time I worked at 'The Wood' VW St Johns Wood.
I'll be going on Saturday....to rummage the swap meets and have a good ogle at everyone's hard work over winter.
That is one serious Type2 thread, very inspiring! I will keep my eyes open for Lee on Saturday.
Karmann bug for a cine cam!? It's always someone else who gets the deals even if it was in 69.
Lots of tuned flat 4s out there these days, amazing how much power guys are squeezing out of these humble little engines, but I guess it is due to 60's and 70's inspirations like Ron Fleming, Greg Aronson, Gene Berg etc. _________________ John
