Hi to all and thanks for having me. I have recently brought a herald 13/60 convertible and began the long road of restoration and tinkering. I intend to modify the car slightly by adding a 1500 engine and overdrive gear box. Maybe some nice period wheels. Besides that ill be keeping everything original on the exterior.
Has any got experience with the engine conversion? Any major pitfalls to look out for?

Welcome to the forum!

In the dim and distant past I had Spitfires, all Mk3s, one with the 1300 engine which was pretty similar to the 1500. From memory the 1500 wasn't quite as strong a unit as the 1300 - problems with the crankshaft thrust bearings ring a bell - maybe worth checking up on that.

Personally I'd go with the overdrive option, and breath on the original 1300 engine if it's still in good health.
