It is home Very Happy

The bike is in a drivable condition but must be fully restored, there are many things done wrong by the previous owner and the paintwork is a spraycan job.
The intention is to get it correct first, when this is done get it registred as there is no license on the bike, when this is done it will get a bfull restoration.

Started with the restoration of the Terrot.
Breaking the bike down to pieces and selected all the parts wich needs to be nickelplated, painted and repared.
At first i repared the petroltank which has a few leaks and gave it a quick spray with a rattle can to see if i like the original colour and pinstripe or dicide to paint another coloursceme.
After a few days eyeballing it i think i'll go for the original black and gold,i was thinking of a dark red\maroon but i like the black more.
I de-rusted all the nickel parts so these can send of to the plater.
The rear wheel is totally the wrong wheel,i have the original 40 spoke axle and bring this to a wheel company who is gonna make a new 40 spoke rim for it,i bring him the rear fork complete with the brake assembly so he can put the pully in line .
All of this will take some time to be ready, nickelplating could be a waiting time of 3 months and the wheel a couple of weeks so there is time enough to do the rest of the bike.

As i have made the holder for the oilcan i want a nice oilcan in it ofcourse.
At a motorcycle fair last december the was a original Terrot oil oilcan, asking price 500 euro's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was a little above my budget for a oilcan(about 490 euro)so i decided to take the airbrush out of the cobwebbs and create my own Terrot oilcan.
Also recieved the seatpan from the trimmer, nice new leather and foam.

I like the licence plate Smile it's very interesting to follow your progress with the fabrication of new parts.

Thanks Rick,i know it is not the way the "restoration"guru's like it,with them all parts must be factory original, ugly or not........
I have a background of building one-off choppers, customized cars and bikes
and my own design racing bikes so i really can't leave it to alter the original design.
Always i must improve(in my eyes)things to look better,i'll think it is a mental defect Rolling Eyes
Back in the 80s i owned a 1956 Opel Rekord,an original dull grey car,i painted it two-tone white and red, sunvisor, continental kit and caddilac wheelcovers with whitewalls and i loved it......at the Opel oldtimer club meetings i was almost lynched by the members......i did'nt care, the public liked it at meetings and asked a lot of questions about it,i always said it was a special California edition Razz
With the Terrot it is almost the same,it is my bike,i build it and pay for it,if you like it i'll be happy,if you don't like it i'll be happy too.
This is probably one of the last updates of the bike as next week i must go for surgery at the hospital and after that will need a long time to recover so i can't go on with the Terrot for a while.
