Just seen the above on farcebuuk!

It shows something one of your other photos has as well....perhaps someone knows about them?

They are, the bulbous headlamp lenses?

Obviously an accessory of the time, were they intended to enhance the headlamp beam? Or were they intended to 'protect' teh headlamp glass from debris, etc?

Smile

The bulbous lenses were standard Ford fit on these early, pre-war Ford 8s.

Yes Rick you are right about the bulbous headlamps on the 7Y, its also a standard fit on the 7W and from memory the rare pre-war E93A Prefect.

Rick, Just been looking through the pictures of the Ford 7Y's on the main site. The last one showing the picnic really took my eye because of the caption. Its says it was taken in Wells, Somerset.

My fathers family are from Wells and I was even born there. Do you have anymore info on the picture?

Unfortunately no more info, all I have is the vague location which was written on the reverse of the photo.

A long shot, but I will show my Father the photo and see if he recognizes any faces.

Hi
I wondered about a car park or similar near the Cathedral but can't find one on old maps with trees on it but couldn't find one, I wonder if it could actually be near Wookey Hole which is after all only couple of miles outside Wells.

Not very many clues to go on in the photo. So much has changed in and around Wells. In my lifetime, so much land developed on.
