Son wants to restore a motorbike, so had a look around for a cheap one as he is only 16 and all I could find was a 65 BSA C15!
So any BSA bits in the shed let me know.

There is a huge advantage in restoring bikes over cars.....space!!

My father in law started restoring bikes after he retired, he is not really bothered what they are, currently he has on the go a 1980 Suzuki GSX 1100 Katana and a Honda Melody! both arrived as box's of bits!, he only has a single garage that also houses 2 modern bikes, but still has loads of space to work..

WE are the same, tiny house and just a lock up garage
My sons doing this as his EPQ project for school as they can build or repair almost anything as long as they do a quality write up.
The story behind the bike.
I have been looking for a few months but as we only had £200 to spend couldn't find any scrappers, I couldn't believe how difficult it was to find one, we just wanted a 4 stroke ideally with drum brakes, I just happened to mention that I was struggling to a friend who does my cam belts and he had the BSA in a corner of his garage as he wanted the engine for another bike but as he had had it a long time and not started he offered it to me for £200
I just hope we can coax the engine in to life but its not looking good at the moment!

Just wondering did you ever find the badges?
Frames done just doing a dummy run of assembly and we are still a few bits missing.
If anyone has any forks, tank badges of rubbers, good exhaust let me know

Do you have any recent photos of the work done so far?

It'd be neat to see threads for some of the classic 'bikes owned in these parts, I know quite a few people do have motorcycles tucked away as they're often mentioned in joining-up request emails I receive Smile

Welding in progress
We used a scrap frame for the bobber conversion as we want to put the original back together hopefully as a trial bike depending if we can source the bits
