Hi all,
I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I have an Alvis 12/70, 1940, with the original mechanical Bendix Cowdrey brake system. I got the car in bits and found that the expander and the brake shoes of the RH front side were missing. The front and rear parts are identical except for a minor mod to the front expanders.

Does anyone here have a hint as to where I could find those bits? Much searching on the web has not yielded any results. Girling parts no problem, Bendix nil.

Thanks, Matthias

Have you tried POWERTRACK? Never let me down yet. Howard at COLLECTORS CAR PARTS has remarkable knowledge and stock, worth a shout.

Hi Matthias,

I'm not familiar with the Bendix brakes but wondered if they were the same as Land Rover (transmission brake)?

Hi Matthias.
Some while ago I bought some brake shoes believed to be suitable for my Armstrong Siddeley, regrettably they were similar but slightly too small. However, someone told me they might be Alvis parts.
Can you send me a picture from the other set of shoes so we can compare?
There's a link here to a photo on my Dropbox or, pm me and I can post to you.
