Morning all,

This lovely old Humber has suffered an interior fire (due to a 240v heater being left on the back seat...).

The soft interior trim is toast, and the roof material will need sorting, but the rest looks ok.

For the amount of work required, new interior, new roof and getting it running properly does £10.5k sounds a bit too much to me?

I suppose in top condition that would fetch £16-20k, so it could be a reasonable price... but it depends: it looks like the dashboard may have suffered, in which case are you going to need to source new instruments (or repair the existing), does any of the timber body frame need repair (the roof timbers will surely need replacing),then there's the upholstery, roof lining, roof outer covering, carpets, top half repaint... an awful lot of expensive work!

That's what I thought, there are a lot of unknowns and the work that can be seen would be rather expensive.

It looks to me as if its been priced to attract a home restorer, it would not be cost effective to have the work proffesionaly undertaken, probably the reason a repair was not sanctioned by the insurer?
