New hype? There are a couple of pick ups on Ebay that are conversions from saloon cars. As usual with these home made conversions they look horrible.
Are there really people looking to buy these things?

1973 RELIANT SCIMITAR GTE RED CUSTOM CAR PICKUP TRUCK

professional conversion
Oh wow! Well it does not look that way. Yours for £2,500.00

Classic Mini - Pickup Special
Quote:
Professionally built Classic Mini Pickup utilising a MK4 saloon & Pickup parts, the rear bodywork is built from 1.5mm steel sheet & 40mm box section frame to resemble a classic mini pickup, wings, front panel & bonnet are all correct for a pickup, but this truck has the benefit of being slightly longer in the cab than a standard pickup & so is much more comfortable to drive than a regular small cab factory truck
Maybe, but I still would prefer a factory “truck”. For sale at £6,995.00

1969 Morrris Minor Ratrod/Hotrod Pickup Truck not project
Not much Minor left in this one. You have to admire his handiwork.

DAIMLER DS420 CREWCAB PICKUP

professionally converted from a hearse

The fuel caps shown have since been replaced with caps more in keeping with the vehicle and its appearance.
Wish they had done that with the wheels as well! Asking a high price of £14,745.00

citroen gs pickup
They just cut the roof, did not even bother to change the rear end. This GS deserved a better fate. Buy it now for £3,650.00

The Mini looks to have been done quite well (from looking at the one photo above), although the glass sunroof is a big "no no" for me.

Plus I think the Scimitar would work well, if finished off with care - and without the chequer plate.

The rest though are (chooses words carefully) not for me Smile
