Rick started a bit of a discussion about Garden equipment a bit back but I can't find it. To cut to the chase someone (localish 'cause it's heavy) ought to have a go at this

They are about as agricultural as Boadicea's chariot, but a lot more interesting than a modern Honda powered thing. Huge single cylinder 2-stroke with a totally inefficient silencer!!

Magnificent old thing isn't it! not tooo far from here. I was offered a superb 1940s Dennis mower last week, complete with a hedgecutting attachment that I've not seen before. The price was too strong (fortunately) plus I'm very short of undercover space, so passed it by. I must be getting old.
