I found this listing on fleabay and made the vendor an offer for three of the cars. He accepted and was kind enough to send me FOUR! They are very quirky, solidly made, and in my opinion a worthwhile addition to anyone's collection.

The cars are slightly larger than the Dinky Hotchkiss that I've included in the pics and have a maker's mark moulded on the inside. I can't make out clearly what it is but it looks like a wheatsheaf. The windows, frames, exhaust stubs and grille have been hand-painted and there's a cloverleaf design, possibly stencilled, on each side. I can find no images of these on the internet and I'm not even sure which car they represent, if any. See what you make of them.

Photos no longer avaliable due to Photobucket changes.

I can't say that I've seen them before either, are they hard plastic or the soft squidgy kind?

Hi Rick,
They're a hard, granular plastic, almost like recycled ground up hard plastic grains in resin. They have wire axles and all-plastic wheels. The colour varies between models. I originally expected moulded papier-mache but was quite surprised and pleased when they were a bit more durable. I thought they might be a wartime or immediately postwar toy but who knows?
