Our series E Nuffield service parts list is 1946 onwards, was there a 1939 edition as I can't seem to find one? _________________ Garage: 1939 Morris 8 Series E, 1942 Morris Z Van |

The only place it may be is in the consolidated Parts List Volume 3. This covers all Ser III models and I think may contain Ser E and Ser M Ten. Never been able to get a copy.
Some of the parts on the early Ser E are the same as the late Ser II just to confuse everyone. |

There is very little that changed between the 39 SE and the 46; off the top of my head:
The control box was an RF91 later the RF96 (but are interchangeable)
The position of the handbrake was moved backwards slightly on later models, resulting in shorter handbrake cables.
The leaf spring shackle pins on earlier models were threaded, later reverted back to the simpler rubber silent bloc. Springs are also different.
Later radiators had a larger capacity.
Lip seals were introduced on the hubs to replace the original felt.
Pre war cars have the word "Morris" stamped into the hub cap, later didn't.
Pre war cars had a colour "over black" with matching interior colour, post war were only available in black with a brown interior.
Mechanical bits had minor changes but given most cars would have had these swapped over the years, its irrelevant.
Cheers

Thanks Dave, so did the series E always have a 2 brush C45 dynamo?
EDIT: Was all black a pre-war colour option? Our car is all black but certainly not the original paint. The interior is brown. _________________ Garage: 1939 Morris 8 Series E, 1942 Morris Z Van |

The Ser E always had a two brush dynamo. It was one of the main points when it was introduced. |
