I need some new track rod ends.
The axle is from a 1935 Standard 9

I replaced them in 2009 but had trouble matching them from normal sources.
I had to get them made to order.
I can't find any refernce to the company I used as I have not made a note.
Probably because I had a lot of trouble with them getting the order right.

Can anyone point me in the direction to source some for a Standard 9, not 100% sure they are Standard 9 so really need to find a company that can make them to patterns.

Anyone know of one

Thanks

PS: Will post a thread, if anyone interested, in another project, building a one man teardrop to go behind the DLM.

Hi, any chance of measuring the threads and the taper etc, I have numerous track rod ends but don't have a clue what they fit. I assume left and right hand. Ken

Might the Standard Motor Club have something in stock, from memory they have a reasonable stock of bits (at least they did for my '50s Ten when I needed service items).

Hi Rick

I tried the various Standard clubs a few years ago, even joined both the drivers and the owners club but never had a reply to any requests for help.

I am now playing with the idea of changing the track rod ends to a more available source, period though,
I know I will have to get the steering arms taper reamed, or whatever.

I might even have to changing the tie rod, no problem with that as it is just a straight tube with left and right internal thread each end.
The clamping on the tie rod has always been a bit hit and miss.

Being a bitsa I don't see any ORIGINALITY problems.

Hi Ken.
I'll see to measuring etc. soon
Where in Kent are you, got a few classic car mates in Kent and we meet often.
