I recently had a shell from a 1966 S type given to me for some work done for a friend. Which had me thinking. Then I hatched a plan to put a modern car into the shell. The dona car was an 1999 XJR see pics attached.
I would lie to apologist for cutting up the dona car. Yes it was a good car but in my defence it had to be the last thing I wanted to do was repair or replace items as well as trying to make them fit. I hope you like what the result of paring these vehicles has produced.

Well done for saving the S-Type shell, which most would probably have simply weighed in. Bit sad to see the XJR (I had a blue one once), but at least the oily bits went on to be used in a creative way Smile

I'll say!

You must be very skilled to undertake such a mammoth operation. Congratulations.

I have heard of owners retro fitting XJ40 3.6 and 4.0 litre straight six engines into Mark 2s together with their auto or manual gearboxes and one Swedish engineer shoehorned a V12 into his.
But a V8 supercharged engine and dashboard with all the associated electronics.

If I ever have to call on the services of an RAC engineer, I hope you turn up.

As others have said, I salute the skills that enabled you to do the job, but for me, you've spoiled two possibly nice cars.

But, as I have said so often, it was your time and money, so therefore your choice!

NO complaints from me. I take my hat off to you. What a mammoth task! ...and it's all Jaguar!

As an aside, by opening up the rear wheel arches you have (in my opinion) corrected a dismal design for which Jaguar should be ashamed. They don't usually make a serious blunder but the S type rear wheel arches was a real howler.

Nice, neat treatment of the front side lights. Much better.

Obviously, as everyone here knows, I am not a great fan of modifying rare and historic vehicles - and neither cars are that - but what you have achieved, albeit not in my style (and why on earth should it be?) is a credit to you.

I like your stylised "Jaguar" mascot.. it's different.
