Hi all,

We recently called in to this enthusiast-run museum located at the former Staverton airfield. It's home to a variety of aircraft, with Gloster-built machines featuring strongly. There must have been six Meteors dotted about, some restored, others in the queue for TLC. Two examples of one of my favourite 1950s jets, the Javelin, were in attendance, one restored inside the hangar, the other part dismantled and stored a little way down a taxiway.

The forward end of a Trident 3b fuselage was also on display, as was a cockpit section removed from a Vulcan B2, both of which were open for viewings.

It's a fascinating place, located on the Meteor Business Park to the north side of the airfield. Parking and entry are both free.

The early jet age did produce some lovely looking designs. The Javelin is nice, I particularly like the Sea Vixen. We saw one in flight earlier this year and it was very nice.

Hi
A bit more info on the Unibus.

The look of it is certainly ahead of it's time.
