Morning all,
One of my favourite small pickups of the 1950s era is the Austin A40. I've fond memories of the A40 Devons I had, not exactly road burners but really smart looking cars and pickups IMO. This very tidy example is in Canada, but if the price remains close to where it is now, even adding in shipping would still result in a good buy for someone in the UK I think.
The wheels look like car rather than pickup types, iirc they should be 17" with heavier rims, and as a consequence, with front wings featuring larger openings than found on the Devon and Dorset saloons. Although maybe this applied to the later A40 commercials only?

I like Devons but prices are just too high these days, I must admit I prefer the panel van to the pick-up. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |
