Hi all,

The uses that an ancient estate like this could be put to are almost endless, not forgetting that soon, many will be collecting their Christmas trees in readiness for the festive season.

While the attentions of Messrs Welder and Paintjob will be required before this rare Countryman hits the road again, the practicality that such a machine would offer makes the job well worth doing IMO.

According to Howmanyleft.com there are 339 Austin A60s still licensed but that is a general figure as the estates are not shown as a separate model.

Even at 10% of the total that leaves less than 40 and I suspect the actual figure is less meaning that this A60 estate is rare. The same must apply to Morris Oxfords as well.
I don't remember seeing many A55/A60/ Morris Oxford estates even in the 1960s and 1970s.

The last one I saw was ten or twelve years ago which belonged to a gentleman from Eire. His was a light blue example which was registered
69 G 1. I presume he had taken the option of surrendering the original registration number or possibly bought a mainland UK or Ulster car and was allocated 69 G 1.
