Morning all,

A batch of photos added to the main site a few days, include this snapshot of two ladies walking along, with a van parked in the background. But what is the van? The Jowett Bradford has unusually-large rear windows in the back doors, but photos I've seen of various Bradfords don't match the van shown below. Is it a Bradford, or something else ..... ?

I can recall seeing something like that but can't think what it was.
I wonder about a Rootes product though.

Hmmm could well be it.

Coincidentally I've a print-out of that same photo stuck on my 2nd PC screen next to me here Smile

I was speaking to a bloke earlier in the year who has a Hillman just like that, he was thinking of selling it but doesn't seem able to make up his mind.

I thought it might have been one of these :
A Commer Express Delivery Van

But I don't think so after seeing Peter's photo. The rear end is different.

I was thinking along the lines of an Austin 8, and came across this.

Was Austin directing their advertising at Hosiery, Telephone or Shoe salesmen ?

I think the positions of the rear door hinges are quite helpful. At least so in eliminations.

The van in Penman's photo is a Morris Y-Type, the rear door glasses aren't large enough to match the van in the old photo.

I think I'd go with it being a Jowett, maybe with a coachbuilt back end?

There are certainly some Jowettesque features about it - like the door hinges and road springs, but the doors are too wide for it to be a Bradford. I am with the Hillman suggestion. Very similar to this?

I think it is that Hillman. Window size, Door design, so no lights on the upper body and the horizontal trim under the windows.

All we need now are the names of the two girls. Smile
