Morning all,

This 1929 Austin certainly needs everything doing to it, especially if it were to remain as a saloon. How viable it'd be to restore it to original I'm not sure - most of the wooden framing appears to be present, although inevitably most if not all of it would end up being replaced.

Perhaps a new life fitted with a replacement tourer body, or maybe re-invented as a dropside truck, is a more realistic option for this aged survivor? Would such a conversion be heresy?

Being a fabric body I'd have thought that would open up restoration in original form to a wider market of restorers.

Its rather sweet isn't it and fairly unusual to my knowledge. I reckon though that it is a tad expensive, unless the engine or something is valuable for something else

My feelings exactly!

But there is probably no more work in this than in an apparently better car; with a fabric body it needs stripping back to the bare essentials, and on this one nature has already done the job Very Happy
