Morning all,
This tiny photo dropped out of a pile of papers the other day. I don't recall where it came from, but thought I'd pop it on here in case one day someone searches the 'net for a photo of 48 Squadron's jazz band - or at least part of it.
Part of an aircraft can just be made out, over to the right. Apparently in the squadron's early days they flew the Bristol Fighter, although the profile of the wing tip in the photo, from this angle, doesn't quite match that of the Bristol.
The photo is tiny, only measuring 2.5" x 1.75".
On the reverse, an ink-written note says "One detachment of our jazz band. Banner reads '48 Uber Alles Got* mit uns'".

Might be worth sending a thread link to http://www.raf.mod.uk/history/48squadron.cfm there is a contacts link at the top of the page.
The badge shape is referenced by the triangle inside a circle. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.
