Hi all,

I doubt whether a saloon in this condition would ever see light of day on the road again, but this super-rare convertible will surely receive the extensive TLC that it deserves....?

And, for once, not ludicrously priced either. I really do not recall when I last saw one!

Curiously, only last week I was looking at exactly one of these in the Malta Classic car museum! This was in Quera, St Pauls Bay, Malta. This example had a touching history, formerly owned by the museum owners father, he travelled in it as a boy but it was sold and found its way back to the UK, somewhere in the North East, I believe.
Carol (Carlo) the boy set about tracing his dad's old car and found it for sale in England and brought it back to the Island, where it now resides in his collection (a remarkably good collection too: highly recommend a visit if you are in Malta) awaiting full restoration. It's in powder blue with the canopy, although the canopy is a bit ropey.
Whist I was there, I had the great pleasure of meeting the owner himself where he enlightened me with the story and we looked a lot of press material that was written about this story.
I will send him an email as he may well wish to acquaint himself with the present or future owner to compare information in his restoration of the hood, etc.
There can't be too many of these about now so to see two is extraordinary.
