Morning all,

Yes, another old estate car - but one that's worthy of salvation, after years of inactivity - a rare Oxford Traveller. While the Companion posted yesterday has already received "the works" in terms of restoration, today's little beauty is waiting for someone to lavish time and £ on its faded bodywork and aged mechanicals. At least it's all together, and hasn't been reduced to a pile of rust and splintered wood befor being given up on, a fate of many projects like this.

That is as rare as a rare thing! Don't think I've seen one since I was an apprentice in the fifties.
But I wonder why they only made a two door model?

Curious... how did it get an "A" plate as these were only issued in London in 1963 I believe.

Were the A plates not also used for cars asset stripped for their nicer numbers before the age related plates came along?

Yes, Peter, that is likely. We call it car rape!
