Hi all,

Lots to do here! Nice shape though, and registered correctly too which is a bonus.

Lovely looking cars and not that many about. There is a lot of work to do and I note that there's a lot of parts missing. Its one of those that will cost a lot to do.

Rick, you have an eye for the same cars as I do! That one almost had me reaching for the purse strings, but as Rootes75 says, it will cost an awful lot of money ...

It'd be a labour of love definitely. ISTR an article in The Automobile magazine not long ago, about someone who rebuilt one of these from a ruin.

The guy I bought my '38 Buick from had two for sale at the same time. One he had butchered by fitting Transit mechanicals. He had originally planned on starting a wedding car business using the Buick and the Talbots. That ended when vandals torched the Buick. I paid 100 for the remains. I only sold it two years ago and it now lives in Dover and is under restoration.

Well it ends today, one person felt brave and then bottled it (looking at the bid history), will it find a home!?!?!???

I still think its too much money for what it is. Hope it finds a home though, maybe they might take a lower offer if it end with no bids?

It's been relisted 100 cheaper; I think he needs to drop 500 to create a bit of interest ...

The model memorably described by Michael Sedgwick as a "Hillman Minx in a party frock" (which it was). Bit disappointing after the great Roesch Talbots and not in the same league as a drivers or performance car.
Still the Rootes brothers made money and the Sunbeam Talbot Darracq combine did not in the harsh times of the early 30's hence their demise.

To be fair, the Roesch Talbots were profitable, but the Sunbeam factory absorbed it all, and more.

And the Hillman Minx had already appeared in the same party frock - the Talbot Ten was identical to the earlier Hillman Cresta.

Yes the Aero Minx Cresta Saloon is very similar and the Tens's forerunner.
