Anyone got any clues / hints /suggestions about the basic setting up of this carburettor when starting up for the first time?

Hi Tony,
It's a fairly simple carburetor. The only adjustments are the slow running mixture screw and idle speed. It won't be critical if these are not correctly adjusted for first starting. You could screw it fully in the mixture screw then unscrew perhaps 1.5 turns but to honest you can't really adjust it until the engine has reached normal working temperature.
Set the idle speed adjustment just to very slightly open the butterfly.
