A local Hospice just outside Preston is hosting a morning car meet 10 am - 2.00pm, on the 9th July, at the Mill which is part of St Catherine's Hospice, at St Catherine's Park, Lostock Hall, near Preston. The event is being organised by local Wolseley enthusiasts, but all types of Classic are welcome and encouraged.
The Mill, incidentally, although attached to the Hospice, is an award winning restaurant in its own right and well worth a visit.
The text below gives more details:
On Sunday 9th July and on Sunday 13th August, the Wolseley Owners Club are starting a classic car club meet in the grounds of St Catherine's Hospice in Lostock Hall, Preston, entitled 'Classics at The Mill'. St Catherine's has The Mill, which serves food and drinks - lovely food and they have offered to put a gazebo near the Mill and do hot breakfast buns and hot/cold drinks for anyone (not expensive) who attends with their classic car (it does not matter what marque it is) or anyone attending can eat in The Mill (full breakfast or whatever they want). We will be having either a brass band there or a youth band (providing their services free) to provide some entertainment - 1000 - 1400. Proper car parks there with hard standing. We do hope that some of your members may fancy a run down to meet up with us. We will be there in our Wolseleys and other classic cars. If any of your members can join us, I would be grateful if you could email and let me know. All proceeds from the sale of food/drinks will go to St Catherine's. I look forward to hearing from you.
Email Address:Events@WolseleyOwnersClub.comBest wishes
Kind regards.

That's right, if approaching from the east, go past to the Lostock Hall roundabout, (about 1/4 mile with large war memorial on right) and double back. _________________ 1953 Citroen Traction

I'll be there (hopefully, breakdowns always on the cards) in the little green meanie Escort, and a couple of friends in MGB's and possibly a TR6.
I have my Old Classic Car sticker in my side window. |

Hi
Good to meet norust and BigJohn, they both appear in the pictures but I will leave it to them to ID themselves.
Which of the Citroens do you recognise from the forum?
BigJohn's Green meanie and friends.

Hi
That was my first bulk posting since changing to PostImage and it was basically a one click process for the whole list.
I uploaded to PI in one go, once they were in, there was a page with the data for them all listed above the thumbnails.
Three drop down menus to the left, choose 1"codes for all images" 2"Hotllink for forums" 3) "One Column".
Then left click on the icon to the right of the data, "copied" shows, then do a single paste to this site.
If you want to add comments between pictures it is easily done now because you can still ID which one is which from the data. just put an extra line break in if you want it to show up easily. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.

Well that's me with the shorts and walking stick

And that's the Green Meanie.
Many thanks for the photos Penman.
A very good day, met some nice people, and the ladies in our group approved of the restaurant. I hope it becomes a regular feature, but only one Wolseley was on site, and I thought it was one of their gigs. |

Hi
Chatting with some of the Wolseley people, it wasn't particularly promoted as a Wolsely meet, there were some of their members there in other vehicles it was really intended as just a chance to meet up with variety of cars and do some good for the hospice at the same time.
They have arranged another for the second Sunday in August. and hope it could become a regular thing.
Incidently my go at snapping the Wolseley didn't save on my disc so if you or nurust got oneit would be good to see it.
It wasn't a genuine police one, but the owner fitted it out as one hoping for film work. _________________ Bristols should always come in pairs.
