My Solex has packed in due to corrosion internally. Would any one suggest where to get one? None of the carburettor "hosptal" type online stores have any. Looked on ebay and the prices for new are out of my budget. Suggestions please, thanks.[/img] _________________ 'Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another' |

Good morning Journer,
on a shelf in the shed I have 2 Solex 32-34 PDSIT(s) a2 & a3. They a bit 'grubby' but if they are any good to you, they are yours. I picked them up on Freecycle but not what I could use.

They were already off the vehicle and in a cardboard box, I got the impession from the chap that a V.W. (air cooled) Beetle may have been involved.

I "might" have one but wont know until the weekend.
Had the same issue with my singer when I bought it, ended up after a very long search, finding a brand new old stock one. Cost me £300 a few years back but well worth the money for the excellent running it has given.
if I havnt already thrown it you can have it for spares.
I have seen a few weber conversions that had my singer not been an automatic (the carb has a bolt on section that works with the kickdown function) I would have gone for due to the availability.

Good morning Journer, I'm afraid I don't have that information as to vehicle suitability.

have you tried carburetor exchange in leighton buzzard?
http://www.carbex.demon.co.uk/index.html
they were very helpful and knowledgeable when the zenith broke on my austin, they found me an equavalent solex and jetted it to match. |
