I'm not familiar with the fast back Rapiers and Alpines but I think the only item in your third photo that is from Series 1 to 5 is the water temperature gauge.
I can't now remember and I may be wrong but I have a suspicion that you need a different mainshaft to fit the overdrive to a non-overdrive car. You certainly need a shorter propshaft.
