There is absolutely NO DOUBT in my mind that ethanol is destroying fuel hoses. Modern petrol contains up to 10% ethanol and only R9 rated hose is safe to use for any length of time. If you have hose rated R6 or lower it IS NOT E10 PROOF.

What's worse...there's a lot of FAKE R9 hose out there, particularly on fleabay. far-east 'manufacturers' are just badging up old stock as R9.

If you car has anything less than genuine R9 petrol hose there is a real risk of a split and a fire.
