Couple of detail questions please?

Where the roof meets the gutter there is clearly a 'dissimilar' metals thing going on with my Pop. Please can someone tell me what the gutter is made of and how the joint (slight groove) should be made up - looks like soft solder and some filler type stuff is present. It also appears, having cleared the corrosion, that there is an overlap join to the roof?? Hard to see how it was made.

Also, need to replace the wing joint piping. I have seen a PVC type, but it looks wrong (in my view!) where can you get the original 'rope' type and can it be over painted / sprayed?

Many thanks

The original filling was probably lead.

Have you looked here for wing piping? http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-348-wing-piping.aspx

For wing piping I would go with Leathercloth, most trimmers will supply that.
