Aft'noon all,

I can't say that I've read about these before. Just as BMC did, the Rootes Group produced a good number of export-only, badge-engineered, variants of their home-market cars, and this Humber 10 appears to be an example of this. Brits are more used to this shape being badged up as a Hillman Minx, but evidently for certain overseas markets (Oz and NZ?) it was re-worked and sold as a small Humber, instead of a small Hillman.

If anyone can shed more light on these I'd be interested to hear. This one's in the UK.

Hi
Haven't found that model, but apparently the antipodean Audax was known as the Humber 80.

I have seen a few pictures of the Oz small Humbers on Flickr, like you said Rick badge engineering, Rooted were very good at it.

From memory and I am not sure if there is much truth in it but I was once told that with Rootes commercials they badged identical lorries as Commer or Karrier meaning they could double quotas allocated while using the same vehicles.

Living in NZ,I can confirm all the above points.
My father -in -law owned 2 Audax Humber 80's,a 58 and a 61 model. The practice continued with the series IV,V and VI,with the Humber variant known as the 90,but the "Arrow" models were sold as Hillman Hunters, and Singer Vogues.A few Humber Sceptre's were imported privately, but I don't believe they were available new here.
The NZ assembled Hunters all featured hubcaps from the Australian Chrysler Valiant range.
The Simca/Talbot 1304 range was always badges as a Chrysler here, and was the last model sold.
