Hi all, new member here. I'm in Australia.
Recently I saved this Hillman Super Minx basket case.
There no plans for a full restore, but just a clean up and drive.

Body is average, although generally straight, it's been painted with house paint and brush at some stage. Doesn't run, seized brakes (yikes! pushing it was a nightmare), the list goes on.

I've worked through some of the issues and my current one is that Solex PSEI33 carburettor. I've already kitted it, however it has a few stripped threads and an accelerator pump that doesn't get fuel. I'm no stranger to basic carbs, but this thing is a little baffling. Is there a bolt-on replacement, or can you still get recond Solex 33's around?

Australia has very few suppliers of this stuff I've found.

No need for a full restoration, its what you are happy with. Sounds like a good plan to me.

I have a 1965 Singer Vogue.
the Carbs are quite interesting but also quite rare (I managed to buy a brand new, old stock one last year)
if you are handy with fabrication, I have seen one with a Webber conversion which made things easier.

if Photobucket wasnt being difficult I could post some images of mine

please keep updated.

Hi Kevin, Singer Vogue is essentially the same vehicle isn't it?

I've investigated Webers, and I think on the later non-cast head/manifolds they are a good fit, but the early cast manifold with one round hole and two bolts, it'd be an interesting adaptor.

I'm considering adapting a local Holden single throat Stromberg, which I've heard have good results on Vauxhalls etc here in Aus, (jetted down to suit 4cyl)

But ultimately I'd like to keep it standard. Although this thing is a bit of a basketcase, it is surprisingly original.

Can I ask where you found your NOS carb?

Same car essentially.
I just rung every parts dealer I could find. Found one guy who had a huge stock and he came across it.
Made a huge difference.

Pm me your email and I will send some images over.
