Blimey, this is a lot of money ... but at 4360 miles from new, they don't come much better!

Nice patina and a rare van, but even at half that (£8k) you could buy a very good Devon or Morris 1000 van. _________________ Various Rootes Vehicles. |

Fascinating!
Can I lay claim to be one of us on OCC who has actually driven one?
The year was 1972 and the MO van belonged to the owners of the local Spar here in the village. It was in dark green and originally registered in Montgomeryshire either JEP or KEP 205.
What I remember clearly was that it was in really good condition and had been bought a stand in delivery van while the usual Mini van was being repaired following a road traffic accident.
It wasn't slow either, in fact quite responsive if a little ponderous on twisty roads.
It had a floor rather than the normal column gearchange which suggests that it was one of the later models. _________________ Starting Handle Expert

I too drove one! When I ewas an apprentice we had one as a service van, side valve engine and column change.
Ellis, I wasn't aware that they ever made a floor change MO.
Was it perhaps a conversion? |

It could well have had an engine/gearbox swap from a later Morris Oxford.
I did say that it felt quite responsive - nippy even. _________________ Starting Handle Expert
