Hi all,

As the advertiser states, there aren't too many genuine A40 Countrymans around nowadays. Despite its (very) poor storage, the visible bodywork doesn't look as bad as it might, but inevitably there'll be work to do underneath - even if the separate chassis is still ok.

A 10k buy-it-now suggests that the seller has big hopes for its final sale price ...

Is that the one with the £10k buy it now? I haven't seen the ad but one of my friends was joking about it.

He seems to be putting great value on it being a Countryman rather than just a van with windows; I may be wrong, but I believe the roof vent indicates it being a van not a Countryman ...

OK I'll stand corrected; I understand the roof vent is a key feature in distinguishing an A35 van from a Countryman, and assumed the same here Embarassed

The car in front of the Wiki A40 would be good for "The old-car quiz".
It appears to have the type of rear lights used on late 50s Rovers but what are they on in this picture?

Amazingly I was exactly thinking the same! Late Armstrong Siddeley perhaps?

Yes, I think you're right. BTW. Sorry, I should have given you credit as well as Rick for the HRG.

I don't think the Marauder had spats.

Hi
Whatever it is the rear overhang appears to be quite short compared with a lot of cars.

Bids are up to 1600 on the final day of listing, the reserve - which has been lowered according to the listing - has yet to be met.

This is the also the case with the 100E Ford estates [Squire & Escort].

Allows the rear suspension to better support heavy loads, I suppose?

This appears to be a van conversion rather than a true countryman, the very rare Austin versions had the same dashboard layout as the saloon and also the same radiator grill and also had the split tailgate.
