I recently wrote an article about which I believe are the ugliest cars ever built. This is my personal top 5 list:
1 Fiat Multipla 1998 - This is probably the ugliest car I have seen in my life and career. And I have seen a lot of ugly cars in London.
2 Nissan Micra 1992 - Maybe it was looking good in 1992 but looks very ugly and outdated today.
3 Toyota Space Cruiser 1982 - This vehicle is quite big with its 7 seats, but also really ugly in my opinion
4 Nissan Pajero 1982 - This one is not so bad in terms of design but I included it in my list because of the name. Look up its translation and meaning in Spanish.
5 Fiat Seicento 1997 - Another Fiat, not as bad as the Multipla but also pretty small.

What is your top 5 list of the ugliest cars ever built?

Pontiac Aztec takes a bit of beating as a mainstream built car.

Marcos GT runs it a close second.

I think you're being a bit unkind to the Micra and the Seicento; I am sure there are several oriental boxes of that period which are 'less elegant'! The original Multipla has certainly got to be up there, but for me the most ugly is still the 1960 Lea Francis Lynx; nearly sixty years on I can still barely look at it!

I nominate any of the Japanese (I think) Nissan-based pseudo-classics such as the Mitsuoka Viewt - that hideous thing based on a Micra that is supposed to look like a Mk2 Jaguar.

I wouldn't mind quite so much if (a) they didn't export them, and (b) if they didn't keep getting posted in "Classic Cars Spotted" threads and groups by people who ought to know better.

I'll be a bit controversial, and suggest a couple of cars from iconic manufacturers; how about the Bugatti Tank and the Lamborghini Egoista?

For me the Aztec would be #1. So awful I respect any owner for daring to have to live with something so ugly.
Rick mentions the Ssangyoung, for example the Rodius with the hunchback:

Modern convertibles, in their quest to hide/hold a folding metal top, created two cars with awful huge rear ends. Peugeot 307 also has a far too horizontal windshield too:

Nissan Micra:

The Rodius looks like a copy of the Lancia Lambda Airline!

I don't see ugly in any car other than the Daimler SP250 Dart....hideous in my opinion.

Noooo - it's snuffling along looking for food. Obvious with the position of the mouth.

Hmm that's an acquired taste, it looks like it's had a dodgy dormer conversion.

It made me think of those conversions you used to see on Mini Metros for wheelchair users.
