Amongst a collection of Jowett parts I acquired a bit ago is a 9" Girling rear brake assembly. It is complete with expander, adjuster shoes, return springs etc. For a while I assumed it was for a Bradford, but I recently measured it and realised that it was 9" (Bradfords are 8" or 10"). Early hydromechanical Javelins are 9" but the back plate is wrong for a Javelin as the backplate edge is joggled. I have it on eBay, but I am curious as to what it is for. I believe it is NOS as there are no signs of it ever being fitted to a vehicle.
Suggestions?? Anyone got a use for it?
