Hi all,

As is often the case with a conversion, the roof material in the raised position doesn't look too brilliant, so that wants a bit of tidying. However the overall conversion - a combination of landaulette and convertible (ish) - actually looks good IMO, which isn't something I often think.

So long as the structure hasn't been compromised - either by the conversion or by later rust - then I think it'd be a nice car to cruise about in.

Thoughts?

I would rather buy a Baur converted BMW E21/E30 and have a car that was done properly. I would think even with a new hood it would be noisy and the edges leak like a sieve at speed, but as a conversion at the time it might've been fun. Not for me though, I prefer the full Britax my P6B had from delivery, watertight and relatively quiet at high speed.

Maybe created as an answer for those hot summer days, when air conditioning was not as common as is today. That said I saw a P6B fitted with factory air con a few months ago.
It looks interesting but I only see disadvantages. At speed these will be lots of wind buffeting and I don’t think it would be nice for the rear passengers. There does not seem to be a neat solution for the hood when it is down. Agree with BigJohn that it will be noisy and prone to leak even with a new hood.
The car is a halfway solution. It is not a proper convertible and it not a proper saloon. Not for me.
