Hi folks, new member here.
I have an old iron and brass Dunlop Major foot pump and want to replace the old and tired leather washer. It's not clear to me how to disassemble the piston / valve assembly to allow me to replace the washer. It looks like the valve (with the ball bearing in the hole) has flats on it, and so will unscrew off the piston body, but I'm not sure. Can anyone help?
thanks

thanks for this. I have looked through that site and a number of similar sites that sell foot pump bits and offer overhaul services. Unless I'm missing something, I can find plenty of information on making washers, but I can't find any instructions on valve disassembly or generic washer replacement. I could buy the book yes, but I'm not *that* interested!
thanks again

Wonder if you found a new washer/seal.

I got one for a nice old Dunlop pump I have...I will try see if I can find where I got it...it was less than 5 years ago.

In fact just googled and I think I got it from this guy.
