Plenty of Lada's still around in Cuba. The Russians provided Cuba with many during the cold war years. They were the mainstay for all government employees needing transport and by far the majority of taxis.
Most still seem to be operating, despite austere conditions but then the Cubans have always been very inventive in keeping old stuff on the road.

I mended a Cossack Ural with a sidecar for a near neighbour once, it was very crudely made and I think a valve guide had fallen out, so we had to make a larger diameter one. It was okay to ride just terribly dated and crude.

The chap gave me a bit of his wedding cake as a thank you, he was a sort of hippy with loads of kids and a bit alternative but very nice. Anyway about an hour lady I started to feel dizzy and a bit weird. Turned out it was full of cannabis and that’s my only non prescription drug experience. I didn’t like it much.
