Missing in my own library - the mid seventies. Does anyone know the new price in 1974 or 75 for the following:

Austin Mini 1000
Hillman Imp
Jaguar XJ6 4.2
Jaguar E-type coupe and/or XJ-S
Jensen Interceptor
Triumph 2000 Mk2
Triumph GT6
Triumph TR6
Triumph Stag

You will note that in those 12 months or so, prices increased by about 40%. In 1973/74 prices were changing practically every month.

Inflation peaked up at 26% and the country was in “managed decline”, so whilst money fell in international value so car (and other collectable) prices soared as a hedge against the situation. Ultimately they halved overnight when things began to stabilise.

An awful lot of people made large amounts for a time until things began to stabilise.
