I am, by hobby, a reasearcher into old photograhps of all kinds of things. Every now and then, I stumble over vintage cars which I find very hard to identify, because I'm really not much of a car enthusiast. If you guys could help me, I'd be very grateful.

Below, two of my current problem children:

Any help will be much appreciated!

Cheers
Thomas

Hi
PM 6631 is a Vauxhall, Bonnet flutes visible when zoomed.
The other one has a circular badge.

Hint for others looking>
Screen zoom doesn't work, instead
Scroll down till you see the red zoom button.

Hi. I would suggest that the second car is a Vauxhall 14/6 of around 1933/4.

Export models had the larger 26 HP engine.

I think the first one is a 1933 Citroen 8cv.

Agreed, either an ASX (14hp) or ASY (12hp).

Are they old family photos, or do they belong to other people?

Those photographs belong to a fairly big collection owned by ETH, the swiss equivalent to the MIT. If you're interested, you can find more following this link:
http://ba.e-pics.ethz.ch/index.jspx?locale=en#1529518604457_1

The pictures show all kinds of stuff, but if you look around a bit, you'll find many pictures of vintage cars, too.

Hi all,

Seeing my first try achieved a 100% success rate in no time, I thought, I'd try again.

There's a car under the trees on the right here http://doi.org/10.3932/ethz-a-000844373

Any chance of finding it? My best guess is that it is an early fifties Chevrolet Deluxe, but I somehow don't manage to fit all the visible details...

No idea about the car. The last two were fairly easy but this is more tricky.

Interesting tree though!

Its weird being the same age as old people.
You are either part of the problem or part of the solution

There seems to be a curved swage going from under the rear door handle down to the sill and seemingly bisecting it. I can't say if Hudson had that but I don't think so. I'm stumped.

I think I'd put my money on a 1946 Buick Roadmaster.
