The only one I watch these days is Counting Cars. Can't stand all the scripted bitchin in most of the other shows along with the deadlines they are supposed to meet.

Not sure whether it's Dave or Quest. It won't be to everyone's taste as their main business is customising cars and bikes but they do restos too. Like a lot of other shows there is more talking than seeing the work they are doing but it's easy viewing.

Just watching a Salvage Hunters Classic Car episode, I dont like it at all. They are haggling over a £12k Lotus Elan which they plan to spend another £6k on. Its not realistic to the hobbiest collector at all and the money being quoted on things is just silly.

I watched that when it was first on - as I recall, the Jaguar one was the silliest. There may be a reason it only ran to (I think) three episodes.

I guess they have to pick stuff that's going to make them some profit, so there's no point them buying something relatively inexpensive. Isn't this the one where they got quotes for repaints by phone, without the painters ever seeing the cars?

I've a feeling that a second series has been commissioned, if what I remember reading elsewhere a while ago is correct.

I actually ended up changing channels, I though it was probably the worst classic car show I have seen. They should have just stuck to Salvage Hunters.

I really enjoy this car show, it’s Turnin Rust from North Texas and in this episode they’re buying three old pick up trucks, one with an 8.2 litre Cadillac engine that this program details al the work they do to it.

It’s nothing like anything you’re used to, but it’s very interesting and they’re instantly likeable enthusiasts. There’s no showboating or pratting around, just a chap and his dad and a few others helping do a remarkable job.

I hope you enjoy it.

Ashley,

The "Turnin' Rust" title leads to an unexpected conclusion.
They make the thing perfect then paint it to look as if it's rusty!

That has some appeal.

The series is an insight into village life in a remote part of Texas and I think it has charm. They’re also quite skilled and artistic and have customers all over the world.

I wouldn’t want an 8 litre pickup truck, but I enjoy the program.
