The tail lamp lens on the Dodge (12v electrics) was more orange than red when I got it. I found that the red plastic lid from a gravy granules tub, which just happened to be circular and fairly translucent, is a perfect fit behind the lens, restoring "red-ness" to the light given out.

Sounds like more evidence of Australian sun damage.

(Mind you, with the ongoing drought, car reflectors are probably way down their list of priorities. Shocked )

Hi
If you have amber bulbs for indicators and the colour flakes off, hobbyists glass paint will bring them back to usable condition.

What particular colour do you recommend for an amber lens? [As in, exact colour name?]...Would it be an orange, for example?

For the red lenses, I recommend , from GlasART, vermillion?

Simply going for 'red' will not deliver the effect looked for.

I think vermillion is best.

Hi
I got a felt pen applicator from a hobbyists store, just looked at them all and picked what i thought the best match, bearing in mind it will have a quite bright light source behind it.
I can't remember what colour it was called and as with all thoise things you buy and use then put away for next time, I can't remember where I put it for safety.
