I'm on Freeview and get Talking Pictures, on channel 81. But it does vary according to tuner spec and what your local transmitter will do - I have two Freeview boxes, and one will happily receive a Manchester-based local TV channel where the other will not. They're on the same aerial cable, piggy-backed one to the next.

I watch Talking Pictures a lot, but for a few weeks there was also another channel called Retro qhich disappeared as quick as it came. Pity that.

You must search on Youtube because there’s an amazing amount of car stuff and old movies on there.

I love the ‘Talking Pictures’ channel....so many good films....one of my favourites is ‘The Girl in the Picture’ which I have now bought on dvd as one of the main cars is a black Ford Popular 103.....
I know...it’s sad, but.. I just can’t help myself ☺️☺️😄😄

I am developing an obsession to note registrations and check the DVLA site to see if they exist. Is there anything I can take for this malady please?

It's addictive....I do the same when folk post up old B&W photos.......

Thus far, I have only found one which still 'exists' on DVLA records....a mini, of all things.

That sounds like the kind of activity to be encouraged, not weaned off from. Have you found any that are still around?

There was great excitement the other evening, when one of my favourite vans of all (E83W) popped up in an old film shown on my favourite channel (Talking Pictures).

Talking Pictures TV?

A marvellous channel indeed.

I caught the B&W movie 'For Those in Peril', 1944, the other day [it's on again, 0900-something, Easter Sunday]......about wartime air/sea rescue....has some marvellous [real time] footage of a Supermarine Walrus taking off, and flying around...
